The Book Buying Habits Tag!

I was tagged by Carrianne from Cuppa ‘n Critiques! Thank you so much Carrianne!! Her blog is SO creative and awesome so make sure you go and check her blog out!

1. Where do you buy your books from???

The majority of my books come from Amazon. I prefer their prices and I don’t have to leave the house. XD

But, I do occasionally go to Barnes and Noble and when I do I can’t resist buying at least one book every time I go.

My family also loves going to 2nd and Charles. And I especially love buying books there because they’re second hand, in good condition and cheap. Which means I end up getting at least 5 books a trip! YAY!

2. Do you ever pre-order books, and if so do you do this in-store or online???

I pre-order a book every once in a while. But, it’s always a book that I’m really, really looking forward to. The last books I pre-ordered were Lady Midnight and Glass Sword. When I do pre-order, I always go through amazon.

3. On average, how many books do you a buy a month???

I probably buy at least 2 books a month.

4. Do you use your local library???

No, I don’t. We just moved so I haven’t been to the library here yet.

5. What is your opinion on library books???

I love library books! But, I rarely ever borrow library books because I want to own all of the books so I go buy all of the books and keep them in my own personal library. XD

6. How do you feel about second hand books???

I love buying second hand books! Their cheaper so I can buy more! Who wouldn’t love that???

7. Do you keep your TBR on your bookshelf or no???

Well, before we moved my bookshelves were literally falling apart so we decided that we wouldn’t take them with us when we moved and that we would buy me new ones once we got situated here. We’re not situated here yet. So, I currently do not have bookshelves and my books are in haphazard stacks on my floor. And, I decided a couple months ago that I would no longer be setting a TBR. If you’d like to see why, click here.

SO, with all of that being said, I guess I don’t really have an answer for this question…

8. Do you plan to read all of the books you own???

If I’m being realistic, no. I have a serious impulse book buying problem so I end up with a lot of books that I don’t really want/plan to read.

9. What do you do with the books you feel you will never read/did not enjoy???

I always donate the books that I don’t want/did not enjoy.

10. Have you ever donated books???

Yes, I donate books quite often. As I said above, I have a serious impulse buying problem when it comes to books and that leads to unwanted books that just sit on my shelf. And I hate to have books just sit on my shelf so I donate them so someone else can enjoy them.

11. Have you ever been on a book buying ban???

Technically. Does it still count as a book buying ban if I don’t abide by it???

12. Do you feel that you buy too many books???

No, I do not feel that I buy too many books. There is no such thing as buying too many books. 😛

Goodreads Tag!

I wasn’t tagged by anyone but I’ve been wanting to do this tag for awhile now. I would have done it sooner but you know me. Always procrastinating. But being that as it may, let’s get on with the tag!

1. What is the last book you marked as ‘read’?

The last book that I marked as ‘read’ was Who do you love by Christie Ridgway, the seventh book in the Rock Royalty series. This book was SO good, as was the entire series. I just CAN NOT wait until the eight book in the series, Love Me Two Times is released!

2. What are you currently reading?

I am currently reading Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare and Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda. Still. But I am making progress in Lady Midnight. I am really hoping that I will at least finish that this month.

3. What was the last book you marked as ‘To read’?

The last book that I marked as ‘To read’ was Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys.

4. What book do you plan on reading next?

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas. I’ve been wanting to read this one for awhile and everyone is currently reading it because it’s sequel, A Court of Mist and Fury was just released. I’ve heard nothing but good things about both, so I can’t wait to read them!

5. Do you use the star rating system?

I do use the star rating system. Though, like everyone else I wish that there were half stars.

6. Are you doing a reading challenge this year?

I am. My goal for this year is to read 100 books. I don’t know how close I’ll get to that but I have already read 36 books. And Goodreads tells me that is 1 book ahead of schedule so yay!

7. Do you have a wish list?

Kind of. I keep a bunch of books in the saved for later section on Amazon.

8.  What book do you plan to buy next?

As I said above, I really want to read A Court of Thorns and Roses next and I want to marathon it with it’s sequel. So I plan to buy said sequel, A Court of Mist and Fury next.

9. Do you have any favorite quotes? Would you like to share a few?

I have a lot of favorite quotes. But I guess I will stick to only sharing a few. XD

“Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, buy why on earth should that mean that it is not real?” -Dumbledore (J.K. Rowling)

“Never trust a duck.” -Will Herondale (Cassandra Clare)

“I am Dead, but it’s not so bad. I’ve learned to live with it.” -R (Isaac Marion)

10. Who are your favorite authors?

My favorite authors are Jennifer L. Armentrout, Victoria Aveyard and J.K. Rowling.

11. Have you joined any groups?

No I haven’t. I’m not really sure why I haven’t though.

12. How many shelves do you have on Goodreads?

I currently have 6 shelves on Goodreads.

Well, this was a lot of fun! If any of you want to do this tag, consider yourself tagged! Leave a link to your post if you do, I’d love to see your answers!

Slumps are for Chumps (Day 1)

Slumps are for Chumps is a month-long bookish meme that is being hosted by The Book Finch. If you would like to know more about this Book Blogging Adventure, click here. There are two prompts for today; you can either do a bookish April Fool’s Day joke or the Book Blogger Confessions tag. I thought the tag looked like a lot of fun so that’s what I decided to do. So, let the tag commence!

1. Which book, most recently, did you not finish?

Well, I have been in a major reading slump and have therefore left Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda and Lady Midnight unread for the last month. So, I guess those count as the last books that I didn’t finish???

2.Which book is your guilty pleasure?

Fifty Shades of Grey. I sometimes hate myself for how much I love this book/series but…..yeah.

3. Which book do you love to hate?

Allegiant. Every time that I talk to my friend Anna, we talk about how much we hate this book and it’s SOOO much fun to bash it together lol.

4. Which book would you throw into the sea?

The Maze Runner. This is the ONLY book that I have EVER dnf’d. UGH. I just hated it and I want it to drown.

5. Which book have you read the most?

The Host. I seriously read this book 3-5 times a year and that’s not counting the times that I just pick it up to reread my favorite parts.

6. Which book would you hate to receive as a present?

I would never hate to receive any book as a present. I honestly would just be thrilled that someone bought me a book.

7. Which book could you not live without?

I can not tell you how much I love Obsidian, the entire Lux series and Daemon Black. There just aren’t strong enough words to describe its greatness.

8. Which book made you the angriest?

Allegiant. *throws it against the wall repeatedly*

If I told you all the reasons why this book makes me angry, this post would go on forever.

9. Which book made you cry the most?

I cried constantly while reading Looking for Alaska. Honestly I just could not stop bawling.

10. Which book cover do you hate the most?

I HATE the cover for Vampire Academy. Hell, I hate the covers for every book within the Vampire Academy series. They’re just SOOOO bad.

I tag:

I also tag anybody else who would like to do this!

(Leave me a comment with your link if you do this tag, I’d love to see your answers!)

I hope you all enjoyed this tag and that you participate in Slumps for Chumps!

The Secret Life of a (Book) Blogger Tag!

The (2)

Thank you so much to bookishgirlboringworld for tagging me!

1. How long have you been a blogger?

I started my blog on December 1, 2015. So, I’ve been a blogger for 3 months and 22 days now. If you’d like to read my first post, click here!

2. At what point do you think you will stop?

Honestly, I don’t know. But I have no intention of stopping anytime soon!

3. What is the best thing?

Comments! I love getting to interact with everyone within the book/blogging community!

4. What is the worst thing?

Feeling pressured to post regularly and read faster. I feel bad when I go awhile without posting a book review and it ends up sending me into both a reading and a blogging slump (which is my current predicament)

5. How long does it take you to create/find pictures to use?

Just a few minutes. It’s usually the easiest and least time consuming part of my posts.

6. Who’s your book crush?

7. Which author would you like to have on your blog?

Even though it is a VERY unrealistic dream, it would be the best thing EVER if I could have Victoria Aveyard on my blog.

8. What do you wear when you write your blog?

Haha, this question is making me reveal my laziness XD. I am a complete shut in and go nowhere so I am almost always wearing a band tee that is older than I am (secret borrowed) from my dad, PJ pants (secret borrowed) from my brother and mix-matched socks.

9. How long does it take you to prepare a post?

It’s according to the kind of post. A meme post barely takes me 10 minutes, a book review takes 30 to 45 minutes and a tag post usually takes a little over an hour.

10. How do you feel about the book blogger community/culture?

I love the book blogger community! As I mentioned above, getting to communicate with other book lovers is the best part of my blogging experience.

11. What do you think one should do to have a successful blog?

I’m probably the last person you should ask about being successful in anything; but I think that in order to have a successful blog you have to care. You have to care about the content that you are publishing and you have to care about your readers and the community.

12. Who do you tag?

2. What is your favorite book?
I have a lot of favorite books and I will probably have many more favorites in the future. But, my current favorite is Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout.

Pretzel bites. They are SOOOOO good. (And now I REALLY want some.)

I Nominate:

The Book Pastry Tag!

I was tagged by Carrianne from Cuppa ‘n Critiques! Thank you so much Carrianne! And I’m really sorry that I am just now getting to this, you tagged me awhile ago XD.

1. Croissant: Name a popular book or series that everyone (including you) love.

Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling. I don’t think this really requires an explanation….is there anyone that has read Harry Potter that didn’t love it???

2. Macaron: Name a book that was hard to get through but worth it at the end.

Passenger by Alexandra Bracken. I LOVE this book SOOOO much but it took me forever to finally finish it.

3. Vol-au-vent: Name a book that you thought would be amazing but fell flat.

The 100 by Kass Morgan. I picked up the first book after watching the show and was expecting it to be just as kickass and awesome and….it doesn’t even come close. I mean it was still good but……yeah. It just fell flat. VERY flat.

4. Pain au chocolat: Name a book that you thought would be one thing but turned out to be something else.

Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout. I had this book sitting on my shelf for almost a year and it took me so long to pick it up just because I thought it would be a light and cheesy read. But it turned out to be an awesome story with amazing characters. I fell in love with this book damn near immediately. It is now not only my favorite book but my favorite series….EVER.

5. Profiterole: Name a book or series that doesn’t get enough attention.

Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson. This book is AMAZING and so unique. I haven’t really heard anyone talk about it which is a tragedy because of how great this book is. I wish everyone would give it a chance.

6. Croquembouche: Name a book or series that’s extremely complex.

Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard. This book/series has SOOO many twists and turns and betrayals and you just have to hold on and try and keep up and hope that your okay when it’s over. But it’s SOOO good. SO good.

7. Napoleon: Name a movie or TV show based off a book that you liked better than the book itself.

Maze Runner by James Dashner. I bought the book and the movie at the same time right after the movie was released on DVD and I was planning to read the book and immediately watch the movie after. I could not get through the book. I just couldn’t. It’s the ONLY book that I have ever DNF’d. The premise for this series was genius but it just wasn’t written well at all (in my opinion). But I really loved the movie and it portrayed the aforementioned genius premise perfectly and all the characters were great. I just wish the book was better.

8. Empanada: Name a book that was bittersweet.

Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare. This book is pure perfection but I cried SOOO much while I was reading it. It broke my heart so many times and that epilogue left me in ruins. But it is easily my favorite Cassandra Clare book and I wouldn’t change a single thing that happened in it.

9. Kolompeh: Name a book or series that takes place somewhere other than your home country.

Illuminae by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman. This book takes place on a different planet and on space ships….in space. I do not live on the planet mentioned in this book nor do I live on a space ship….in space.

10. Pate a Choux: Name one food from a book or series that you would like to try.

Cherry scones from Carry On by Rainbow Rowell. Simon says that their the number one thing that he misses the most when he is away from Watford and with the way he talks about them, they must be AMAZING.

This was a lot of fun so thank you again to Carrianne! If there is anyone that would like to do this tag, consider yourself tagged! (Leave me a comment with your link if you do, I’d love to see your answers!)
